Denial | 2016 (PBS)
A genre-fluid score, weaving together many disparate narrative elements and guiding a story through many unexpected turns.
Denial | 2016 (PBS)
by Dir. Derek Hallquist and Anoosh Tertzakian
DENIAL follows the story of Christine Hallquist, CEO of Vermont Electric Co-op and first Transgender Candidate for Governorship in the US, seen through the lens of her filmmaker son Derek, to whom she has granted intimate access for nearly 15 years.
Much like the film itself, Denial's score tells two stories at once, each represented by disparate musical elements. One story is technological, political and complicated. The other is deeply personal. By the end of the film, these two stories and their musical counterparts are woven into one.
